WELCOME TO MY TUTORIAL

UPDATES

all these style sheets don't work properly anymore if you haven't noticed it already.
don't come here anymore unless if you actually know what you're doing.

RULES:

++  If you want help go ask other layout makers. don't do stuff you don't know how to do.
++ Don't accept style sheets (layout codes) from people.. I honestly don't care if they're your friends... get the layout codes from tutorials.
++  Be creative with your stuff. If you want to make nice layouts... change everything on the code and rearrange stuff to find your own style and be original. Don't use the style provided for you over and over.
++ Do not... take the codes from my examples provided. they are called examples for a reason. they belong to me. only take the codes that you see in the scroll boxes... understand?

note: instead of ASKING me questions... read this tutorial. i swear... ppl don't read anymore... it would save you the trouble of asking me and saving me time.i mention alot of things on here but if i didnt mention some things you wanted to know... then ask someone else dont just ignore this post and ask me things that are probably on here. READ! it wont kill you ;]

1st entry-->> simple basics
2nd entry-->> screenshots
3rd entry-->> style sheets
4th entry-->> hex color codes

Basics

^^ that will tell you where to get ur materials you need to being your layout making. ^_^ the three MOST important things needed to make a layout are the following::: style sheet, background and/or banner image, and color hex  codes.
oh sure... the style sheet looks like gibberish... but use your brain.. hello! there are words in the code that hints what it edits... like blogbody is the entries...  table left means left modules.... etc. or just experiment with it and you'll get the hang of it.
just use the color hex codes to change colors and to match your background image. you NEED to MATCH the wallpaper you're using [if not using one... just worry about the hex codes and style sheet and ur fine] or else your layout wil turn out... bad... sorry to say... @_@;; make sure its a nice big wallpaper... if its too small.. put it as a banner by using this code-->   <img src="IMAGE URL HERE">

note:: put that banner code at the top of ur layout code.... x]

keywords you need to remember when making a layout is balance and focus. no need to rush. just focus on making it look cool... lol. and balance out the design... you dont want half of the layout all bulky and red and the other half all dotted and swirly or whatever... the style has to stay the same unless you know what youre doing and its YOUR design then fine. and the colors have to be  at least 4 or 6 maximum depending how  colorful ur background image is.

XxoO-------------------- TIPS---------------------OoxX

--->> to enhance your layouts... use glitter [ex. click], add playlists[just add a playlist code at the end of ur layout code], or falling objects [ex. click].

--->> NEVER DIRECT LINK YOUR IMAGES!!! it works for just a while and then the image wont show anymore sometimes... so image host it. but be careful about bandwidth... if the bandwidth exceeds... wait a while and host the image again.

       imageshack [i like to use this one.. but its limit is 1024 KB for any kind of file]

      tinypic [only hosts small file pictures.]

      imagecave [great for hosting jpg./bmp. wallpapers over than 1024 KB]

      photobucket  (need to have a account/nearly smilar to tinypic)

-- HOW TO:: imagehost.

- save the picture you want in ur picture documents.
- go to an imagehosting site. click browse... and then a window pops up showing one of ur file folders... go to ur picture documents and double click the picture you want. then click "host" or "submit"
- wait a few seconds/minutes... the picture will host longer if its a really big file so you have to have patience. and then it brings you to a page full of URLs. for photobucket. tinypic and imagecave... it just gives you the obvious URL so dont worry about it. in imageshack... use the "direct link to image" URL.  thats it... easy right?
- dont steal other ppl's image hosted images... save it and host it on ur own. not only are you wasting THEIR bandwidth.. its also jocking [stealing].

--->> what makes a good layout is good wallpapers. go to anime wallpapers or anime cubed to get nice ones. or just search on google or yahoo. if you're looking for regular abstract images go to nuthinbutnet.

note:: colored layouts work the same way except at some points.. without the background part. plus you dont need Paint Shop Pro or any fancy programs to make layouts.... all you need are the three things i mentioned earlier. i dont have PSP and yet... my layouts look fine. PSP or Photoshop enhance your layouts and can use them to make SKINS or DIV layer layouts. I don't make those so don't ask me.

XxoO------------------------- STARTING THE SITE-------------------------OoxX

--->> register and start ur layout site like any other xanga.
--->> then set it up... install a layout in it... few codes... etc.
--->> ok plan out ur entries.. [max entries is 5] like updates, rules, layouts, etc.
--->> when making a layout and you want to put it up... register for a new xanga for ur layout. when you do... post up the layout you made in your Look and Feel and paste the code in an entry.
--->> to link ur layout in ur entry... type a phrase or make up a symbol [i.e. "@#$" or "click"] and highlight it. click the link button in ur weblog xTools and type the web address of ur layout... click ok... and ur set.
  ex: >>click<< that's what i'm talking about.
--->> everything is self-explanatory from there. if you need help with anything... ask other skilled layout makers like myself... .

and also.. this is a tutorial for layouts.... not anything else. nope.. this aint a tutorial for link buttons, banners, skins, blahblahblah no... LAYOUTS and thats it.
